February 4th, 2009, VANCOUVER, B.C. – ALIX RESOURCES CORP. (AIX-TSX:V) and GEO MINERALS LTD. (GM-TSX:V) (The “Companies”) are pleased to announce that, pursuant to their agreement with Nucoal Energy Corp. previously announced on November 5, 2008, Alix and Geo have exercised an option to acquire an undivided 60% interest, and up to 80% upon completion of a feasibility study, in mineral interests located in the Torch River area of the Province of Saskatchewan. Coal Prospecting Permits with respect to these Torch River claims have been issued by Saskatchewan Ministry of Energy and Resources.
As reported, Geo and Alix are well positioned in Saskatchewan, with interests in areas under permit including the Wapawekka Lake area north of Goldsource Mines’ (GXS-TSX:V) recently announced Ballantyne permits; ground adjacent to the North American Gem’s (NAG-TSX:V) Adamas discovery; ground to the north of Goldsource Mines Border property and ground covering the Montreal Lake historical coal intercepts previously announced.
The Torch River interests are in addition to other interests that Geo and Alix also have under agreement with Nucoal, including coal interests located on the Manitoba side of the Goldsource Mines (GXS-TSX:V) Border property.
Alix Resources and Geo Minerals are each junior exploration companies actively seeking mineral and energy opportunities for the benefit of all our stakeholders.
